Art@thePoint – an iconic sculpture and collaborative

art project that will create an identity for MoRA

The Art@thePoint 16tall art sculpture conceived by public artist Leslie Scott is well in process and despite Leslie’s untimely death scheduled for completion later this year.

To be situated at the juncture of Conference Drive and Monroe Road across from the Independence Library, Art@thePoint (its working name) will be an iconic identifier and gathering spot for the Monroe Road corridor. Its chrome metal infrastructure has been cast, and mosaic tiles are being created through collaborative workshops including MoRA neighbors, students and businesses.

Accomplished local artist Lee Baumgarten is now overseeing the project as Lead Artist.

Final funds being raised for Art@thePoint

Art@thePoint is being funded by individual and community contributions. So far, MoRA has raised more than 90% of the project’s total costs.

We need your help to raise the final $5,000.

With this help, Art@thePoint will be an enduring legacy for our area and an engaging place for neighbors to gather.

Thanks for your consideration.

We are on track for a 2017 installation.
