Advocacy
Since 2016, MoRA has advocated for Monroe Road, an area that had been overlooked for decades. Charlotte’s exponential growth makes it essential that our voices are heard—for walkability, transit, and the Silver Line, for responsible development, for investment in our schools and public safety.
MoRA has both organized and participated in community meetings to address issues impacting Monroe Road. We’ve conducted focus groups and surveys since 2014, and hosted town hall meetings and government agencies open houses since 2015.
We have worked on major rezonings impacting the area. For example, we advocated for key elements of the MoRA Point development through discussions with Selwyn Property Group. We have coordinated with CATS and led community feedback regarding the future Silver Line.
