Curtain up for BRIGHT STAR

Events, News

East Meck H.S. proudly presents BRIGHT STAR, a musical by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell.

Set in NC’s Blue Ridge Mountains, BRIGHT STAR is inspired by a true story about the Iron Mountain Baby.

Local audiences love hearing familiar towns as the storyline carries across decades—1920’s and 1940’s—and across the state from Asheville to Raleigh.

It’s a musical. It’s a comedy. It’s a romance.

And it’s being performed this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday by a group of really talented young actors that you ought to see!

“Catherine Moore and Shawn Knock lead the ensemble in creating glorious harmonies for this sweeping North Carolina tale.” -Bernadette MacLeod, Director

“We have had the most remarkable experience bringing our cast and crew back to the stage with this show,” says Kathryn Heinen, Musical Director of BRIGHT STAR. “It has been over two years since our last musical, and they act as if they haven’t missed a beat.”
