Delicious quality food and ingredients, and healthy options (their eggs are pasteurized, and their gluten-free waffles are tastier than gluten-laden options elsewhere) in a friendly and convenient location are hallmarks of Famous Toastery Matthews. “Breakfast, lunch, and brunch. Located at 1640 Sardis Road North, Suite 160 in the Galleria Shopping Center at the corner of Sardis Road North and Monroe Road, it’s just a small hop from anywhere in the MoRA area.
Like everyone, Famous Toastery Matthews has its own story. Owner Mark Labuskes is a former Huntersville sixth grade CMS school teacher whose love for leading by example drew him to teaching, welcomes everyone with a smile because he knows that he and his friendly team have a chance to offer their customers a unique experience. Mark reached a fork in the road several years ago after being in a 9-5 professional career with the Whitewater Center (he’s an avid outdoorsman) and then Brixx Pizza Gastonia. He wanted to have more quality time to spend with his wife Beth and sons Maxton (at 5 years, he prefers Max) and Rhett (2 ½ years, whose independence is definitely showing these days!) and a restaurant with morning and afternoon hours was just the ticket. Plus, it gives him time to play with their pooches Ivy, a Rottweiler who swears she’s a lapdog, and Bear, a mutt with a mind of his own.
Mark also believes in supporting his community and is providing a sampling of Famous Toastery Matthews’ fare at MoRA’s Thursday’s Live events! They also have weekday specials that can help your wallet and perk up your palette.
