Latino Community Credit Union to anchor new office building at Meridian Place

The Monroe Road Advocates started years ago, in part, because neighbors felt their community lacked services and shops that served area residents. Those days are a distant memory. Southeast Charlotte is seeing a ton of construction right now. The grocery store at MoRA Point is moving along at lightning speed, retail space at Oakhurst Square is finally moving along, and Meridian Place recently completed their second retail building next to the Embrace sculpture. We finally saw the Famous Toastery open after what felt like years of waiting.

Whenever we see dirt moving in the area, we know new buildings are coming soon.

The latest dirt moving is at Meridian Place. What’s going in? A 10,000 square foot office building anchored by Latino Community Credit Union and a new orthodontics practice. The credit union will occupy 4,000 square feet of the new single-story office building while the orthodontics office will take 2,400 square feet of the building to be completed next spring.

Why do Latinx credit unions matter? Here’s an article that tells why.

Meridian Place brought a much needed mixed-use development to the area, starting with M-Station Apartments, followed by retail, including Hawthorne’s NY Pizza, Wingstop, McDonald’s, and Edge City Brewery. The first office space is finally coming, with developers hoping to add a three-story office building in a later phase.
