It might be back to school time, but UltimaNota is going to take us to the tropics first. Hailing from Venezuela, Mexico, El Salvador and Dominican Republic, this local Charlotte band is known for its blend of tropical rhythms with a modern twist. Earlier this year, they released “Soñando,” a full-length album that features local Latinx artists and highlights the diversity of Latin music styles created in Charlotte – from salsa to funk to reggae and everything in between.
Bring the fam; bring your neighbor; and join us for MoRA’s Thursdays Live 6-8p on August 18, presented by Edge City Brewery and emceed by Art Henson.

Food + Drink
When you’re not out of your seats dancing, your tastebuds will have you making big decisions at Tin Kitchen, one of Charlotte’s original and most beloved food trucks. Their menu includes tacos, sliders, quesadillas, and nachos. And back by popular demand, Maná4u will be set up with their traditional Venezuelan appetizers—perfect-size snacks including tequeños (cheese sticks), cachitos (ham crescents), and pastelitos (puff pastry w/ meat filling).
Hawthorne’s Pizza is offering cheese or pepperoni pizzas. Two slices/$5 or Whole pie/$15. Full menu available inside the restaurant.
Games + Guests
It’s your last chance to catch The Big Air Street Team’s inflatable games at Thursdays Live this season. Kids and adults can test their skill at the football toss, basketball shootout, and axe (inflatable!) throwing.
You’ll have have the chance to meet these special guests who *might* be bringing some fun freebies and activities: A-List Smiles, Hearing Solutions Center, Allora Wallace Park, Neighborhood Hope, and Matthews Playhouse 🙂
